Methuselah Wins Tasmanian Derby Trophy
Armidale Stud stallion Savoire Vivre (Sadler's Wells-Oh So Sharp, by Kris) added a black-type success when front-running gelding Methuselah (Savoire Vivre-Dazzling Vintage, by Weasel Clause) led all-the-way to score a 2.75-lengths victory in yesterday's $100,000 Listed Tasmanian Derby (2200m) for 3YOs at Hobart. Methuselah (ridden by Jarrod Todd for trainer John McArdle) defeated favoured fellow gelding Barysh Quest (West Quest-Miss Barysh, by Baryshnikov) & another gelding Colonial Gold (Promontory Gold-Lady Jill, by Undercut). Methuselah (a $30,000 yearling at the 2010 Magic Millions Tasmanian Sale) took his record to 3 wins from 8 starts for $75,325 earnings.
