Bernardini Adds Dubai Black-Type
In Dubai, US triple Gr1-winning shuttler & Eclipse Award-winning stallion Bernardini (A.P.Indy-Cara Rafaela, by Quiet American) added a black-type success when Godolphin's UK-bred daughter Gamilati (Bernardini-Illustrious Miss, by Kingmambo) came from last-in-running to power away for a 5.5-lengths victory in the Listed UAE 1000 Guineas (1600m on all-weather) for 3YO fillies at Meydan. Gamilati (ridden by Frankie Dettori for trainer Mahmood Al Zarooni) defeated Irish-bred duo Pimpernel (Invincible Spirit-Anna Pallida, by Sadler's Wells) & Alsindi (Acclamation-Needles And Pins, by Fasliyev). Gamilati took her record to 3 wins (also including 2011's UK Gr2 Cherry Hinton Stakes over 6 furlongs at Newmarket) & 2 runners-up from 6 starts for US$238,723 earnings.
