Stravinsky Adds French Black-Type
In Europe overnight, Coolmore-owned NZ Cambridge Stud shuttler Stravinsky (Nureyev-Fire The Groom, by Blushing Groom) added a French black-type success when US-bred 4YO entire Violon Sacre (Stravinsky-Histoire Sainte, by Kendor) scored by a short neck in the €52,000 (A$88,000) Listed Prix Du Point Du Jour (1650m) at Craon. Violon Sacre (ridden by Ioritz Mendizabal for trainer Jean-Claude Rouget) defeated 8YO gelding Chopastair (Astair-Very Sol, by Solicitor) & UK-bred 3YO colt Polarix (Linamix-Freezing, by Bering). Last year Violon Scare also finished runner-up in France's Listed Prix De Saint-Patrick (1600m) at Deauville.
