Barathea Adds French Black-Type
In Europe overnight, former Widden Stud shuttler Barathea (Sadler's Wells-Brocade, by Habitat) added a French black-type success when daughter Cicerole (Barathea-Uryale, by Kendor) scored a half-length victory in the €52,000 (A$83,000) Listed Prix De Lieurey (1600m) for 3YO fillies at Deauville. Cicerole (ridden by Christophe Lemaire for trainer Jean-Claude Rouget) defeated Turfrose (Big Shuffle-Turfquelle, by Shaadi) & In The Light (Inchinor-Exclusive Approval, by With Approval). Last season Cicerole also finished 3rd in France's Gr3 Prix La Rochette (1400m) at Longchamp.
